The Bristol Bay Reentry Coalition collaborates with the Department of Corrections, regional service providers, and successful reentrants to provide support and reduce recidivism. The coalition focuses on housing, training, education, treatment, and community and cultural connectedness. The reentry case manager provides access to resources, guidance in self-sufficiency, employment support, referrals to partner agencies, and transitional support to eligible individuals. Before COVID, coalition staff were providing support for reentrant releasing in Anchorage and to the Bristol Bay region. Funders for the coalition include the Department of Health and Social Services, Recidivism Reduction Grant, and federal tribal grant funding.
