The Anchorage Reentry Coalition strives to improve prisoner reentry outcomes and public safety, and does so through engagement, education, advocacy, and collaboration. Coalition members reflect a diverse array of people, programs, and organizations, as well as numerous professional disciplines that work with or serve currently-incarcerated people and/or those who have returned to the community. The coalition serves as a space for people to come together, share information, and engage with others interested in promoting successful reentry in Anchorage, and throughout Alaska. The Anchorage Reentry Coalition network convenes for regular general coalition meetings to share information and hear about topics related to reentry; coalition members participate in hosting and operationalizing reentry simulations in the community to educate people about prisoner reentry; reentry news and member updates are shared via an email distribution list and social media; and members utilize the coalition network to communicate and collaborate on delivery of reentry programs and advocate for returning citizens and those involved in the justice system.
