About

The Alaska Reentry Partnership is a coalition of individuals, reentry coalitions and centers, family members, case managers, community providers, local businesses, and public agencies that promote success for justice-involved Alaskans.

Members of the Juneau Reentry Coalition meet once a year to pick up trash along their “Adopt-a-Highway” section.

Alaska Reentry Partnership includes reentry coalitions, state and community organizations, reentry centers, case managers, people with lived experience of incarceration (peers), family members, faith-based and cultural support, community providers and administrators, corrections, law enforcement, courts, and public other agencies. Partners promote success for justice-involved Alaskans at all phases of their justice-involvement (pretrial, incarceration, and reentry).

Alaska’s eight reentry coalitions—Anchorage, Mat-Su, Fairbanks, Kenai, Juneau, Dillingham, Nome, Ketchikan—are supported by local, state and federal resources, in-kind support from local organizations and businesses, and many volunteers.

Reentry coalitions are overseen by steering teams or boards of directors, and managed by reentry coalition coordinators. Coalition activities include direct assistance to justice-involved Alaskans, community outreach and education, reentry simulations, regular meetings, planning and advocacy.

Reentry case managers provide direct assistance and reentry planning assistance for Alaskans returning to the community after incarceration. Peers, people with lived experience of incarceration, offer direct mentorship and support—including reentry planning, housing and employment assistance, access to treatment and recovery services, transportation, peer support, faith-based, cultural, and family support, and more.
